bimIT!

We are a team of professionals with more than 13 years of experience in construction and IT industries.

Now we are on a mission to develop a simple and handy tool that will allow construction site personnel to extract high-quality graphical information tailored to their site-specific needs from .IFC models on the fly.

Exactly when and where it is needed.

Without the help of architects, engineers, BIM specialists or any other highly skilled, highly paid (and most probably always busy and unavailable) office proffesional.

Simple yet very powerful tool for our hard working folks at the construction sites all over the world.

As part of LIAA and  Norwegian Financial Mechanism's small grant scheme "Development of Green Innovations and Information and Communication Technology Products" we have finished work on an experimental software kit that allows users to create detailed sketches and drawings from .IFC format models. The experimental tool allows users to load models of different disciplines, navigate the scene by zoom/pan/rotate to quickly perceive the shape and extent of the structure. By creating cut planes it is possible to take a look inside the building, understand its levels and floors.

Users can use model to specify location of a view, be it a plan, section, or detail view. From .IFC model elements our software generates 2D vector graphics that contain all the information attached to the ifc elements giving users ability to display specific information these elements contain in the drawing. It is also possible to change the scale and page size of the created drawing, it can then be further detailed using various standard drawing tools - lines, dimensions, height marks, revision clouds, text comments, etc. When completed, drawing can be exported to .pdf or .dwg format.

At the moment, active testing activities are being carried out in real construction site conditions with the aim to develop a full-fledged software solution on the basis of our experimental tool, that could then be offered to a wider range of interested parties.
